HNGTC – Delivering skills for industry in the Hunter

30-Jul-2014

Originally established to address skills shortages amongst HunterNet members in the Hunter Valley and Central Coast Regions, HunterNet Group Training Company (HNGTC), offers training services in apprenticeships, traineeships and customised programs.

Over the years, HNGTC has gained a reputation for outstanding performance and service in managing the recruitment and development of apprentices and trainees. In particular, the organisation offers high retention rates and excellent pastoral care for its employees and apprentices. HNGTC also partners closely with its host businesses to maximise the application of training in the workplace.

HNGTC’s productive relationships with schools assists in the take up of school-based traineeships and promotes the benefit of working in engineering / manufacturing.

Apprentices and trainees employed through HNGTC have access to a "Life Skills" program which helps support them to make good personal choices and access to a transfer program that allows them opportunities to become more multi-skilled.

The organisation's dedicated approach to apprenticeships and traineeships has benefited the community by allowing host businesses to concentrate on their core functions, thus maximising their efficiency and profitability, and creating career opportunities for young people and those seeking a career change.

HNGTC’s belief in supporting young individuals through training has resulted in award sponsorship at many training organisations including TAFE and various schools.

Testimonials from individuals and companies who have benefited from HNGTC's support reveal the high level of satisfaction with the company's services.

"I will always be grateful for the encouragement, assistance and support provided by HNGTC in helping me to establish and develop my career" said apprenticeship program graduate Adam Randon.

Host business Shane Burley from Reliable Conveyor Belt Pty Ltd explained how HNGTC became an integral part of his company's workforce.

"Through its careful selection and monitoring processes, the Group Training Company and Reliable Conveyor Belt have formed a strong partnership in training at the entry level," he said.

"However, it is in the area of personal care and ongoing support of the apprentices that places HunterNet Group Training Company ahead of other group training organisations. We look forward to this ongoing relationship."
