Minister Andrews visits group training apprentices

22-Nov-2016

The Assistant Minister for Vocational Education and Skills, the Hon Karen Andrews MP, visited GTNT and Host Business, Bridge Toyota, during her time in Darwin last week.

Minister Andrews said she has seen many examples of the value of apprenticeships and traineeships in action and she spent around 2 hours speaking with apprentices and staff from GTNT and Bridge Toyota.

The Minister was keen to hear about ways to encourage school students to choose VET Pathways, and to encourage commencements and completions.

Minister Andrews continues to gather information from a cross section of employers and apprentices and this was another valuable opportunity for her to see firsthand the positive training experiences of group training apprentices and understand the benefits that group training delivers for a host business.
