GTA announces National Executive Officer appointment

19-Aug-2016

Australia’s national apprentice employment network, Group Training Australia (GTA), has announced the appointment of Ms Lauren Tiltman as National Executive Officer.

The Chair of GTA Mr Stuart Diepeveen said Ms Tiltman’s extensive background and knowledge of the group training sector, together with her management experience, made her ideally suited to the organisation’s leadership role.

“Lauren is an outstanding executive who has demonstrated enormous ability and the GTA Board is delighted that she has accepted this key position.

“Her rise through the ranks of group training, starting as a trainee, running a state office and moving to this national executive position is a testament to her ability and her standing across the network,” Mr Diepeveen said.

Lauren was previously the Executive Officer of Group Training Australia (South Australia).

She has served on a number of advisory groups, including as Chair of the South Australian Minister’s Youth Council, and a Board and Policy Council member of the Youth Affairs Council of South Australia and the Playford Youth Advisory Committee.

Lauren’s involvement with group training commenced as a business administration trainee with Statewide Group Training; saw her participate in GTA’s annual leadership development program, Today’s Skills: Tomorrow’s Leaders, and earn a finalist berth in the South Australian Group Training Trainee of the Year award.

Ms Tiltman said: “It is an honour to be appointed to this position. The group training network has an extensive history of achievement in delivering skills to thousands of apprentices and trainees and assisting them into work.

“I am very excited to be taking up this role and I look forward to meeting with GTA members, industry and stakeholders over coming months and to helping to steer the organisation to future success,” Ms Tiltman said.
