These are the guidelines for the supply of photos, logos and other graphic images for use in GTA’s publications. We value contributions to our newsletters, brochures and booklets, and we want to keep it as easy as possible for people to continue to contribute - but we also need to balance that with our aim of producing quality publications.
Photos
- If taken on a digital camera, the camera should be set to the largest image size possible, and the image e-mailed as a JPG file.
- Digital camera images are always 72 dpi so, for print quality, we have to reduce the size of the image accordingly to achieve 300 dpi. This means that the larger the image is supplied, the larger we can use it in the newsletter.
- If scanning a photo print, the scan should be at 300 dpi and as large as is practical for e-mailing, either as a JPG, EPS or TIFF file.
- Good quality photographic prints or colour transparencies (NOT negatives) are also acceptable for scanning by our designers.
- Logos and other graphic material
- All logos and other non-photo images should be supplied as JPG or EPS files and at the largest practical size for e-mailing.
